There’s a difference between understanding something in a classroom sense and having a deeper intuitive understanding. The only way to get the latter is through experience. So, we’ve created a series of demonstrations of elementary statistical concepts using Jupyter.
Run them, play with them, learn with them! If you have suggestions for improvements or new demos, please contact us. If you’d like to use the code on these pages as a starting point for your own work, feel free — use the “File->Download as” menu item and select “python”. Alternatively, you can download all of them at once from their GitHub page
- How to use the demos
- Why is everything a Gaussian?
- How to think about correlation
- Fitting data: why you shouldn’t use Lineweaver-Burk
- Measurement timescales and why you should care
If you have trouble running the demos, or you have questions, comments, or suggestions, contact Dr. Alan Grossfield or leave a comment below.
